Where to begin

finally made it to asia, after some bullshit.

nice clear skies for pretty much the whole month of january. if it wasn't sunny in philly, it was just rain in mawntanner. either way, we escaped frozen precipitation pretty craftily for almost the whole american tour. after getting up and caffeinated on wednesday, i realized that while we were in bed unable to sleep (due to excitement), the northeastern us of a was getting some serious snow and ice.

upon arrival to the philadelphia international airport, we were told that you can't go to singapore unless you have either a return ticket or proof of onward travel, neither of which we had. mad dash to set up some reservations with singapore airlines to get our asses into malaysia.
we got to the gate with about 30 minutes to spare, expecting to hop right into the boarding line. no fuckin plane-ski. the time of departure hadn't been updated, but it was clear that we weren't heading to DC as scheduled (even though our luggage did). naturally, we hit the bar. after switching our schedule around a bit, we decided to get the F off of the east coast and hop a flight to LA to stay the night with anne's buddy cerina. no dice there either. after waiting for about 4 hours to catch that bad boy, it got delayed as well. luckily, ol' preston link resides in philthy these days. stayed the night at his girlfriend's place.

skip a night in philly and about 25 hours of travelling.

now we're in singapore, and its the shit. very hot. no luggage on arrival, as it was re-routed through tokyo. we got sleepage, then got up to find clothes. we were the only assholes walking around china town with cords and hooded penn state sweatshirts in 86 degree humidity. picked up some sweet asian duds on united's tab though, so not all bad. we spent the afternoon with anne's buddy josh and his friends, mostly native to this small land.

this is probably the cleanest city i've ever been in. very green, with all sorts of palms and shit. hellafestive right now too, as we're smack in the middle of chinese new year. bunch of parades and parties and whatnot last night. quite expensive here. it's the richest country in the area, and very small. everything is imported.

(814)574-1987 is officially old news, but i've been checking email like crazy. drop lines when possible, or at least when necessary. if anybody wants some real cheap shit, let me know.
